The Family Support service is delivered from the West Exe Children’s Centre, although services also take place at Exwick Community Centre.

Staff are involved in the Children’s Centre groupwork programme alongside other professionals from Health and Education.  Some of these groups can be referred into by a family directly or by another professional and others are ‘drop in’ such as Hey Lets Play.

We aim to provide high quality play/learning experiences for children alongside their parents/carers, as well as for children who are to be cared for independently within our groups.  Every term we also run a ‘Parenting group’ such as ‘Solihull’ (understanding your child’s behaviour) which is available to any parent/carer who would like to attend. Alongside the groupwork programme staff from the Family Support team also work with individual families.

Often a family may identify a need for support themselves, or another professional may support a family to access our service by making a referral.  Once we receive a referral for our service, a member of the team will visit you in your home to discuss the issues in more detail.  The support will take place either at the centre or in your home depending on what is appropriate for your needs at that time. Our team has a wide range of knowledge and experience and is able to access other services or agencies on your behalf should that be necessary.

For further information, please contact any of the above staff.01392 279361
